Kuoni Creative is an art gallery and retail space offering the platform for local artisans to exhibit their creative work as well as tutor or participate in art workshops and other events held on the premises. Our vision is for artists to come together in a collaborative effort to create, share and extend the importance of art in our society. Kuoni Creative gallery offers this opportunity for artists and art lovers alike. Aside from regular exhibitions and art workshops, we have a retail space selling unique, handcrafted gifts such as jewellery, scarves, glassware, ceramics, pottery, sculpture, prints and cards.
Ultimately, we are focused on art collaboration: using art as a medium for problem-solving; therapy; emotional and social connection with others; and personal discovery of the artistic self. Working in this way can assist people to find artistic relevance in many areas of life, leading in turn to greater social and environmental awareness and providing opportunities for the development of sustainable and innovative business for the future.
I hosted a 10-week drawing course at Kuoni Creative, from February through to mid-April, 2018. The students enjoyed the atmosphere of the gallery and benefited from the smaller class sizes. This meant they could achieve one-on-one assistance and led the way to each of them choosing a varied path of what they wanted to learn during the course and different outcomes by the end. Corina and Tracey were helpful at all times and assisted fully in the promotion and organisation of the workshop.
In May 2017 I had a solo exhibition in the lovely, relatively new gallery space, Kuoni Creative. I was delighted at how professionally everything was organised and at how helpful and accommodating Corina and Tracey were. The entire event went exceptionally smoothly, the gallery is light filled with professional hanging and items are regularly moved around so that the customer feel that they are seeing new things all the time. The entire show was very successful and I have my next one booked for June 2018.
In April 2018, Kuoni Creative hosted an exhibition associated with the 2018 Neville Coleman Memorial Nudibranch Dive Event and Photographic Competition. Marine photographs by entrants were displayed, along with videos, photos, paintings, prints and fabrics by other artists associated with this year’s event. The exhibition was a great opportunity for gallery visitors to see images of little-known and beautiful marine animals, mostly from SA. The gallery has a variety of spaces for showcasing work by local artists, and also displays and sells art merchandise in the gallery shop, and on-line.
