Jennifer Gunson’s work reflects the influences of the Australian bush and, in particular, bushfire affected and rejuvenated areas. She experiments with raw materials and photographs and enjoys working with mixed media, particularly textile art works; handmade felt; and items of art to wear.
She is energised when allowing the fabric or piece of felt to inspire the design. Using a wide variety of threads; wools; silk threads and fibres; rusted and dyed fabrics; Jennifer creates unique textile artworks to express mood and feelings.
She has a strong desire to form and shape felt into three-dimensional artwork, especially vases and bowls.
Jennifer has worked as an art therapist and holds felting workshops and also workshops enabling artists to extend their skills and to express their creativity.
