‘The Backyard of Onkaparinga’ is a personal photographic journey for Robert James, whose own backyard just so happens to be the natural beauty of the Onkaparinga River National Park. It is the title of his first exhibition at Kuoni Creative Gallery.
As he captures his own love of this South Australian region on camera, he hopes to inspire others to walk in his footsteps and visit these places. One of his favourite spots is at Perry’s Bend, a peaceful area situated on the Onkaparinga River. It is frequented by fishermen, cyclists and walkers because of its features and is the point where the river meanders its way to the estuary at Port Noarlunga South.
The flower photographs, ‘Capeweed’ and ‘Pink Poppies’, are from his own backyard. He was particularly interested in their aesthetics and wanted to capture their colour and style qualities through the lens.
All works are printed on archival photographic paper and are professionally framed.
